Carestream, Rochester, NY, announced that Novation, Irving, Tex, a health care group purchasing organization, has added Carestream’s new DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray system to its medical imaging product portfolio.
The DRX-Revolution produces high-quality bedside x-ray images in less than 5 seconds. Its extended tubehead and maneuverability enhance the quality of bedside images while simultaneously making the process more efficient. The unit’s collapsible column offers enhanced visibility to help technologists safely move the unit around bedside equipment and from one area to another. A software tool creates companion images from the original exposure: one image is optimized to show tubes and lines so physicians can verify placement, and another optimized image accentuates the appearance of free air in the chest cavity for easier visualization of the pneumothorax images. Images are displayed on the system’s console and transmitted via a wireless network to a PACS or other information system.
In addition to the DRX-Revolution, the Novation agreement includes the following Carestream radiology imaging systems: Carestream DRX-1 System, Carestream DRX-Evolution, Carestream DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kit, and DRX-Ascend System.
