New collaborations with six technology companies integrate wearable and out-of-hospital tools to improve patient visibility and care coordination.


Royal Philips announced new collaborations with six health technology companies to expand its open monitoring network, designed to help health systems maintain visibility of patients from hospital admission through recovery at home.

The collaborations include Blue Spark Technologies, Caretaker Medical, Cuviva, LifeSignals, Respiree, and smartQare. These partnerships allow health systems to integrate wearable and out-of-hospital technologies into the Philips network to support patient monitoring across different care settings.

“Monitoring is no longer just about what happens at the bedside. Healthcare organizations need a more connected approach that helps clinicians maintain visibility into patient status across care settings,” says Sangdo Kim, category leader, NextGen acute and transitional care monitoring, Philips, in a release. “By building an open, enterprise-wide ecosystem that connects technologies, data and workflows, we can help deliver continuous patient insight, support smoother transitions in care, and create a more coordinated experience for clinicians and patients.”

Integrating Wearable and Remote Technologies

The new partnerships expand the range of continuous measurements that can be integrated into the Philips Patient Information Center iX. By connecting patient data across care settings, Philips aims to convert data into actionable care intelligence to support more efficient coordination throughout the patient journey.

The integrated technologies include:

  • Blue Spark Technologies: The TempTraq wearable disposable patch supports continuous core body temperature monitoring to detect fevers earlier for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Caretaker Medical: The VitalStream wearable solution provides continuous non-invasive blood pressure and hemodynamic monitoring to assist with clinical decision-making.
  • Cuviva: This platform enables hospital-at-home care through digital monitoring, real-time communication, and integration with clinical workflows.
  • LifeSignals: The UbiqVue Multiparameter Biosensor is a wireless, chest-based device that monitors ECG, SpO2, pulse rate, respiration rate, body temperature, posture, and motion.
  • Respiree: The 1Bio platform and wearable biosensors provide continuous cardio-respiratory monitoring, including respiratory rate and lung physiological markers.
  • smartQare: The viQtor and Healthdot biosensors monitor pulse, respiration, SpO2, skin temperature, and activity to help clinicians maintain visibility during care transitions.

Supporting Longitudinal Care

These capabilities complement the Philips connected care portfolio, which includes solutions for monitoring patients after discharge. For example, Philips Mobile Cardiac Telemetry allows clinicians to remotely monitor cardiac patients for up to 30 days following an evaluation in a hospital or emergency department, supporting transitions into appropriate care pathways.

According to the company, the interoperable network provides health systems with the flexibility to deploy and scale monitoring programs using the technologies that best fit their clinical and operational requirements. Not all products are available in all markets.
