The ACIST Pro Diagnostic System provides automated contrast delivery to improve efficiency and safety in cardiac catheterization labs.
ACIST Medical Systems, a Bracco company, announced US Food and Drug Administration clearance and the US launch of the ACIST Pro Diagnostic System. The technology is a variable-rate contrast management solution designed for use in image-guided cardiovascular procedures.
The system is the next iteration of the company’s automated contrast delivery technology, ACIST CVi, which replaced manual injections with automated, real-time precision in cardiac catheterization laboratories. According to the company, clinical use of the previous system demonstrated an average reduction of 45 ml in contrast use, a 30% reduction in contrast-induced acute kidney injury, and an average savings of five minutes per case.
“Expanding access to the ACIST Pro System in the United States marks an important milestone for our company and for the future of precision imaging in the cath lab,” says Fulvio Renoldi Bracco, vice-chairman and CEO of Bracco Imaging, in a release. “By helping clinicians move from uncertainty to confidence at the point of diagnosis, we are supporting more informed decisions with the goal of improving patient outcomes.”
The system was designed for the precise delivery of contrast media in interventional cardiology to streamline procedures and provide clear images.
“Clinicians have guided the development of the ACIST Pro Diagnostic System every step of the way, reinforcing the need to bring efficiency and physician safety together as a single standard,” says Brad Fox, CEO of ACIST Medical Systems, in a release. “Bringing ACIST Pro System to the United States reflects our continued commitment to innovation and to supporting the teams who rely on this technology every day.”
The system was first introduced in Japan in 2025 and launched in select European markets in February 2026. ACIST Medical Systems is headquartered in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and maintains facilities in Silicon Valley, Tokyo, and the Netherlands.
