AAMI has undertaken a major restructuring as the organization plans how best to address the evolving needs of its members and the field. Steve Campbell, the former chief marketing and communications officer, has taken over as chief operating officer, overseeing communications, marketing, membership, operations, and healthcare technology management. Sean Loughlin, previously the director of publications, has become the new senior director of communications.
The Government Programs and Education departments have also merged into a single Education department with Deborah Reuter at the helm as senior vice president. Emilee Hughes, the former director of distance learning, has transitioned into a newly created role as senior director of training programs. Dawn Rowe, previously director of membership and customer services, has been appointed the director of a new Operations department managing membership renewals and customer service.
The reorganization will allow AAMI to pursue upcoming plans to launch AAMI University, rebrand the Annual Conference and refresh its marketing, pursue several patient safety initiatives, and create additional professional development resources for its members, said AAMI president Mary Logan.
