GE Healthcare has announced the global launch of Vivid iq, its portable cardiovascular ultrasound system. With Vivid iq’s image quality and functionality, clinicians can perform diagnoses in more settings than ever before. From the catheterization lab to the operating room to the emergency room, the portable diagnostic ultrasound system, which weighs 4.5 kg, provides high-quality cardiac care.

According to GE officials, feedback from health care providers around the world spurred the development of the Vivid iq system.

“Vivid iq is a huge step forward in terms of image quality and innovative design,” says Rosés Noguer, head of the pediatric cardiology department at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. “It is extremely user friendly, truly portable, with a fantastic interface, and a great design that is really futuristic and elegant at the same time.”

Along a similar train of thought, Al Lojewski, general manager of cardiovascular ultrasound for GE Healthcare, notes that, “We worked directly with cardiologists and interventional cardiologists to better understand their needs and the challenges they face on a daily basis. We’re confident the Vivid iq can help improve patient care and make ultrasound more portable and accessible for patients around the world.”
