Barco recently launched its Nio 5MP diagnostic display system, offering improved higher optical performance, at the RSNA annual meeting in November.

The new system will provide radiology departments with access to optimized high-resolution grayscale applications including chest, orthopedic, pediatric, and mammography imaging on PACS, according to Danny Deroo, Product Manager at Barco.

“The product’s unique resolution of 2096 x 2800 allows users to view images from digital mammography systems in their native resolution with minimal need for scrolling,” he says, which will result in accurate readings and improved workflow efficiency.

A new LCD panel based on IPS (In-plane switching) technology, included with the system, presents grayscale images with more brightness, improved contrast, and better black uniformity, under any ambient light condition.

Barco’s Nio 5MP comes as a turnkey solution and includes a high-speed display controller and an online system for calibration and Quality Assurance.
