The US Air Force placed a $5.4 million dollar order with Royal Philips Electronics for HeartStart MRx Monitor/Defibrillators. The order was placed through Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support, pushing Philips’ total orders received through the DLA Corporate Exigency Contract to over $10 million.
Philips has been working with DLA Troop Support to enhance the Air Force’s emergency service capabilities. Philips’ opportunities with the US military are expanding into the pre-hospital market, which includes point-of-care products in the battlefield and medical transport.
The HeartStart MRx Monitor/Defibrillator is portable and includes Philips’ patented SMART Biphasic therapy. The HeartStart MRx provides a wide range of monitoring capabilities and is compatible with Philips IntelliVue monitoring systems within hospitals. The HeartStart MRx also meets military airworthiness standards for rotary and fixed-wing aircrafts.
