A joint collaboration between MediSend, Project Hope, and Marathon Oil Corp organized the delivery of more than $8 million of anti-viral drugs to the Central Asian nation of Tajikistan.
In Tajikistan, one of the poorest countries in the world, acquiring medicines is often difficult for ordinary citizens. In some areas one drug dispensary may serve as many as 20,000 people. MediSend and Project HOPE arranged the shipment of drugs, donated by Marathon, to Tajikstan’s minister of health for distribution throughout the country.
MediSend and Marathon have a long-standing collaboration in delivering humanitarian and other social responsibility programs in developing countries. Project HOPE, joined the undertaking to help facilitate the delivery to Tajikistan and manage the in-country distribution program.
