A collaboration of leading health care organizations is looking for professionals in clinical engineering, information technology, and medical device manufacturing to volunteer for new working groups to develop guidance on CE-IT convergence issues.

The CE-IT Community is a collaboration formed in 2008 by members of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), the American College of Clinical Engineering (ACCE), and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).

Working group volunteers will address integration, wireless, collaboration, and risk management issues. Past working group projects have included developing a guidance document on assigning first call responsibilities for healthcare networking issues and creating a matrix of questions that facilities can ask vendors with respect to medical device integration.
