Sonora Medical Systems Inc announces a new study and technical paper verifying the effectiveness of the company’s FirstCall ultrasound transducer testing device as a quality assurance and product acceptance device.
The independent study was presented at the 2009 Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering World Congress in Munich, Germany. A paper describing the study—from the department of biomedical engineers at University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden— concludes that use of the FirstCall device can significantly increase the quality of the ultrasound probes in clinical use and the diagnostic results.
According to the study, Sonora’s probe testing device can also helps hospitals optimize their budgets and manage ultrasound inventory.
A technical paper on the subject, entitled “On Evaluation of First Call 2000” will be published in the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering’s IFMBE Proceedings 25/II.
