The AI-enabled platform expands the LOGIQ family with cSound Architecture, automation tools, and liver assessment capabilities aimed at routine and complex exams.

GE HealthCare has introduced LOGIQ Focus, a new general imaging ultrasound system designed to pair high-quality imaging with AI-enabled automation and productivity tools for use across routine and more complex care areas.

The system is built on cSound Architecture with advanced speckle reduction imaging and offers a range of multi-purpose and specialty probes, according to a release from the company. It also features a high-definition ultrasound display intended to help clinicians visualize subtle structures and fine tissue differences, along with advanced flow visualization tools.

“As demand for imaging grows, clinicians shouldn’t have to choose between image quality and efficiency,” says Karley Yoder, CEO of ultrasound solutions, advanced imaging solutions at GE HealthCare, in a release. “LOGIQ Focus builds on more than 30 years of LOGIQ innovation to deliver both, combining advanced imaging and clinician-centered AI-enabled tools that care teams rely on every day.”

Performance and Workflow Features

According to GE HealthCare, a third-party study found that 90% of participants rated the overall image quality of LOGIQ Focus as excellent, and the system was 26% faster than the predicate system. The Vscan Air CL probe is compatible with the LOGIQ Focus, adding wireless scanning capability.

The system includes several workflow and automation features:

  • Auto Preset Assistant, which automatically detects the anatomy being scanned and activates the corresponding preset, saving clinicians up to five clicks per exam and up to 25% less time on AI-automated tasks.
  • AutoEF, which automatically measures ejection fraction to assess heart function.
  • Scan Assistant, which guides users through exam protocols to standardize exams and streamline reporting.
  • Verisound Collab, a digital tool for virtual collaboration across clinical networks.
  • Liver assessment tools, including ultrasound-guided fat fraction for evaluating liver fat burden and 2D shear wave elastography for assessing tissue stiffness changes associated with fibrosis.

“We designed LOGIQ Focus around what clinicians told us they need most: confidence on the first pass, a workflow that keeps pace, and a system they can count on to be there when they need it,” says Michael Greene, general manager, general imaging, primary care, and automated breast ultrasound, ultrasound solutions, GE HealthCare, in a release. “LOGIQ Focus includes features so care teams spend less time on the system and more time with the patient, on a connected platform designed to evolve with their needs.”

LOGIQ Focus incorporates SonoDefense, a multilayer cybersecurity approach for GE HealthCare ultrasound devices that uses a defense-in-depth strategy with security controls deployed in multiple independent layers to help protect system functionality and patient data.

LOGIQ Focus is US Food and Drug Administration-cleared and CE Marked and is available in other markets where regulatory approval has been granted.
