I have a GE Logic 9. When I turn on the machine, it boots up but automatically shuts down. There is a “chirping” sound coming from the back of the machine. I have to keep trying to turn it on for about an hour and then it will stay on. What could cause this problem? Does something need to be replaced?

Usually, this indicates a problem with the power supply in the backend processor (BEPPS). If you can change it as a power supply unit that might work. If not, replace the backend processor as a whole assembly.
