Lee Memorial Health, a Fort Myers, Fl.-based health system, has chosen Virtual Imaging’s RadPro1 40kW mobile digital x-ray system for its radiology needs at the new Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. Comparable to having a radiography room on wheels, the mobile digital x-ray system will help the new hospital capture images in routine bedside examinations, in addition to trauma environments.
Prior to this move, the health system had depended on the RadPro mobile x-ray system from Virtual Imaging, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., for more than three years.
With this digital x-ray system, providers have flexibility in patient positioning and can both manage and manipulate images right at the patient’s bedside. In addition, fast processing times make it feasible to secure diagnostic images for both routine diagnosis and trauma situations.
“In opening this new children’s hospital, we needed a product that could offer clear images and flexibility, as well as a minimal learning curve for our health care professionals. We chose the RadPro mobile 40kW digital x-ray system for its ability to provide us with the quality of imaging we’ve come to expect from our Canon detectors and the ease-of-use we’ve experienced with our existing RadPro radiography equipment,” says Kristen Hickey, director of imaging services at Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Hickey continues: “Before purchasing our RadPro mobile x-ray systems, we were performing diagnostic radiography exams using computed radiography. With the help of the RadPro systems, we were able to smoothly transition to digital radiography and elevate the level of diagnostic imaging that we provide to the community. This transition resulted in an x-ray dose-reduction to the patient, and helped to increase our workflow productivity as compared to using [computed radiography] technology.”
