Bio-Medical Equipment Service Co (BMES), Louisville, Ky, a provider of telemetry repair, rental, and sales, announces the appointment of Ed Evans to the position of president of BMES, effective January 1, 2011.

BMES founders Jim Evans and Jerry King will retire after 21 years of service, and have been developing their succession plan for several years. Evans has been with BMES for 12 years and brings not only experience in the business but also a drive toward the future success of BMES.

Having performed many roles over the years, Evans started as a part-time shipping clerk and moved up the ranks in the company to COO. “I believe that it’s critical to know an organization very well in order to effectively lead,” Evans said. “By serving in the roles I have over the years I have learned the real needs of this industry. I am excited to keep listening and responding to the industry’s needs and to contribute to the success not only of BMES but also for all of the facilities we are working with and will work with into the future. We believe in not only taking care of BMES employees but also in taking care of the people out there who depend on BMES for their equipment needs. We have been and will continue to be all about people.”
