The annual celebration known as Healthcare Technology Management Week is scheduled for May 18–24, 2014. Sponsored by AAMI’s Technology Management Council, the week is intended to “promote the awareness of—and appreciation for—the critical work of biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs), clinical engineers, and other members of the healthcare technology management (HTM) field.”
The AAMI HTM Week web page offers several resources for bringing HTM week to your community, including a sample press release and a sample letter to send to local officials asking them to declare the week officially in your area. A large poster in PDF format is also available for downloading. The poster features the clinical engineering service team at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in St. Louis, Mo.
