To help healthcare facilities understand the challenges of adopting new digital technologies in the medical environment, AAMI has announced that it will cosponsor the 2013 USENIX Workshop on Health Information Technologies, or HealthTech ’13.
Scheduled for August 12, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Washington in Washington, DC, the workshop will include nine paper presentations on privacy, access, medical device security, and the regulatory environment. Speakers will include Brian Fitzgerald of CDRH, Lynette Sherrill of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Kevin Fu, co-chair of AAMI’s Device Security Working Group.
The workshop is being held in conjunction with the 22nd USENIX Security Symposium. The USENIX Association, provides a neutral forum for discussion of technical issues and hosts conferences on topics including security, Internet technology, and mobile computing.
