In September of 2009 we wrote an article about the obstacles to employment the profession saw in some cities. We interviewed Michael Woolems for that article. He had graduated from IUPUI in Indianapolis in May 2009 and found the job search frustrating. Today, having aced the search, he’s employed and our guest blogger. Michael shares a couple of tips on how to land that job.

For students, he said that contacts made through internships helped. Here’s what else Michael says: “Be open to relocating. I also called hospitals and asked for the biomed department and about jobs. That didn’t lead to a job offer, but I got advice, information, and job leads.”

Any tips of your own? Share them here and our thanks to Michael for reassuring everyone finding a job can happen.
