The web-based system allows clinicians to access and process imaging software from any location without installing local software.
GE HealthCare introduced MIM Anyware, a remote access platform that provides secure, healthcare system-controlled access to imaging data through a web browser. The platform does not require local software installation and allows authorized users to access software applications from various locations to support clinical collaboration, according to a release from the company.
The introduction of the platform comes as healthcare systems manage larger and more complex imaging volumes, which increases the demand for improved access and workflow efficiency. Traditional virtual access methods are often limited by siloed workstations and significant IT requirements, according to the press release.
“As care teams face increasingly complex patient needs and growing imaging volumes, healthcare systems need technologies that make imaging data more accessible beyond the traditional workstation and enhance clinical collaboration,” says Jérémy Godart, medical physicist at Erasmus MC, in a release.
The platform enables multiple users, including physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and other clinicians, to join the same session. Participants can perform routine clinical processing, workflow deployment, and dose review together in real time. This remote access is intended to streamline cross-functional collaboration and support coordinated care, according to GE HealthCare.
“By enabling seamless access to imaging data and MIM’s powerful analysis tools directly through a web browser, we’re helping clinicians stay focused on what matters most: patient care,” says J Anders, general manager of MIM at GE HealthCare, in a release.
The platform is designed to support oncology workflows, including consultations, referrals, education, and tumor board collaboration. Clinical decision-making in cancer care often requires input from multiple specialists across a care team.
GE HealthCare also offers other software solutions for radiation therapy planning, such as MIM Maestro and MIM Contour ProtégéAI+ 2.0. MIM Maestro includes a workflow for reirradiation and composite dose assessment, which allows clinicians to visualize prior plan doses on current anatomy. MIM Contour ProtégéAI+ 2.0 features updated artificial intelligence models, including a magnetic resonance brain model and a computed tomography male pelvis model.
The software portfolio includes vendor-neutral solutions for radiation, oncology, radiology, nuclear medicine, theranostics, interventional radiology, and urology.
