Olympus Surgical Technologies America (OSTA)—a subsidiary of Olympus Corporation of the Americas—is expanding repairs and servicing of medical products through the opening of a new complex.

Olympus Surgical Technologies of America has opened a new complex in south San Jose, where the company will be able to employ 700 workers and potentially hire even more.

The employees at the south San Jose complex repair “life-saving equipment,” said company President Jorge Lopes. In recent weeks, Olympus held a ribbon-cutting event to formally mark the opening of the new site.

“We hope this event and this expanded facility will make clear how important these service workers are to Olympus, to San Jose, and to the medical community and the patients it serves,” Lopes said.
