King Systems Corp, an Indiana-based subsidiary of Bespak PLC, a public company on the London Stock Exchange, has begun a two-step multi-year process of acquiring Emergent Respiratory Products Inc.
King Systems bought a 51% stake in the company by investing $3 million. The investment will be used to increase Emergent’s prehospital sales organization.
The remaining 49% of the company will be acquired from Emergent shareholders between 2009 and 2011.
Emergent’s continuous positive airway pressure products are noninvasive ventilators that supply oxygen to conscious, spontaneously breathing patients. The company’s line of products complements King Systems’ anesthesia and airway management business.
