Joint Commission Resources (JCR), an affiliate of The Joint Commission, is offering a series of educational programs for critical access hospitals.

One of the sessions will be on information management and patient safety, May 17-18 in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill; and also September 18-19 in Oklahoma City.

This program will focus on transitioning to electronic medical records and will teach participants about information systems for enhancing patient safety, how information systems are impacted during an emergency, and IT considerations when preparing for disasters.

The session titled “Hospital Accreditation Update” will first be held May 17 in Philadelphia, then again September 25 in Greensboro, NC. The program will address key changes in the continuous accreditation process, new and challenging standards, the latest compliance issues, changes to the on-site survey (including the unannounced survey process), and the newest National Patient Safety Goals.
