Carestream Healthcare International has introduced the latest version of its DRX-LC Detector, incorporating artificial intelligence and automated parameter controls for single-shot long-length imaging, according to a company press release.

Traditional long-length imaging procedures often require multiple sequential exposures and software image stitching, which can extend examination times and elevate the likelihood of patient motion artifacts. According to Carestream, the DRX-LC Detector captures long-bone and spine exams in a single exposure, reducing hold times, minimizing retakes, and improving patient comfort during procedures.

Integrating Automated Exposure and Smart Noise Cancellation

The updated detector integrates detector exposure control, a feature that automatically adjusts imaging parameters to reduce exposure variability, optimize radiation dose, and improve diagnostic accuracy, the company reports.

Additionally, the system utilizes smart noise cancellation, an AI-driven processing tool designed to lower image noise while preserving fine anatomical detail, allowing clinicians to capture high-clarity images at lower radiation doses.
