Sonora Medical Systems reports that at least one third-party ultrasound service company has illegally modified its FirstCall probe testing software in an attempt to test probes models that have never been validated by the company’s engineering department.
Hospitals should be aware that these illegal software modifications could cause significant damage to probes. Any probe tested with these modifications may require replacement. Authorized third-party service companies should be able to present a Sonora Certificate that validates the software they are using.
