Samsung Medison has launched the UGEO PT60A ultrasound system for the point-of-care ultrasound market. Intended for the point-of-care market, it is Samsung’s first tablet-based ultrasound system. The system comes with a tilting 10.1-inch LED touch-screen that can be operated with gloves. It also includes a printer, an adjustable probe holder table, and three probe ports.
In addition, the system includes a software algorithm that enhances the ability of the operator to check the real-time location of a needle on screen during interventional procedures. It also offers a function for fast imaging of intima-media thickness of the carotid artery wall, which enables physicians to diagnose the patient as quickly as possible.
