Shimadzu Medical Systems USA, a subsidiary of Shimadzu Corp., has released the Konica version of the MobileDaRt MX7 called the MX7k. The mobile DR system offers extensive functionality, including Konica Minolta’s CS-7 software functions, a built-in large image display monitor, and an operator-friendly design, providing an increased level of support for medical personnel involved in mobile imaging work.

With the versatility of using three different panels, the digital mobile x-ray system is suited for examining patients during hospital rounds and for medical applications requiring a high level of urgency, such as emergency rooms and neonatal intensive care units.

The MX7k Version mobile features a large 17-inch monitor, increasing resolution while providing higher visibility and touch panel operability. Additional new features, improve the convenience of routine usage, such as storage spaces for smaller items, and grooves in the console sidewalls for conveniently installing sterile bags over the flat-panel detector (FPD). The new MX7k still features the “all-free” button for freely positioning the unit with a single button, the ability to display images 2 seconds after exposure, and the ultra-quiet motor drive.

The FPD unit can be selected from an assortment of available sizes and sensitivity levels, based on the intended application. To date, Shimadzu has sold more than 3,000 digital mobile x-ray systems worldwide.
