Siemens Healthcare is showcasing new applications and workflow enhancements for radiology and cardiology at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Chicago.

Among the new technologies being exhibited are role-based, syngo Imaging (Picture Archiving and Communication System – PACS) portals. Role-based portals are used as an access point to radiological information and context-sensitive tools, allowing information to be accessed anywhere and anytime. Recent updates to the solution provide radiologists with imaging studies, reports, lab values and allergies, as well as scanned documents in a single application window.

The new version V351 of syngo features major scalability and configurability improvements and comes with enhanced support to assist facilities in switching over to the new platform.

The company is also developing a version of syngo aimed at improving clinical efficiency in cardiovascular imaging, vascular ultrasound, general imaging, and OB/GYN.

The HIMSS 2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition in Chicago runs through April 8 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Siemens is exhibiting at booth #2036.
