Manufacturer Easaote North America has announced the first US installation of the G-Scan Brio, a musculoskeletal MRI system that enables cost-effective, weight-bearing or “stand-up” MRI. According to Ricardo Zambrana of the Clinica Venamer in Miami, where the system was installed, it provides “the ability to perform both weight-bearing and traditional supine musculoskeletal MR studies, so we can compare the two and make the most accurate diagnosis.” The system is designed to keep operating and maintenance costs low, and requires no cryogens. In addition, examination times are reduced by as much as 40%.
