Fujifilm Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. has received FDA 510(k) clearance for the marketing of the FDR Visionary Suite, the company’s digital radiography (DR) product for mid-size to large hospitals. The company also announced the simultaneous release of FDR Clinical X-Ray Components, which serve the needs of outpatient imaging providers.

The FDR Visionary Suite, a complete x-ray room system, offers improved imaging workflow while expanding clinical capabilities. Hospitals offering tomosynthesis, energy subtraction, and long-length imaging can leverage Fujifilm’s automated positioning system. When combined with the company’s advanced cesium iodide detectors and image processing, Fujifilm’s automated features deliver improved image quality and diagnostic visibility for challenging views and fine-detail exams. Shipments of the product are expected to start next month, and the company is currently taking orders.

FDR Clinical X-Ray Components, which are currently available in the United States, provide a wide range of power ratings that can cater to a facility’s specific needs, whether that is a rural or remote facility with an unstable power supply, a medium-sized x-ray department, or a bustling department at a large facility. Users have access to a rotating Bucky tray to save time and reduce detector handling and improve efficiency, and an end to cable clutter with an automatic detector connection. An optional tilting wall, which allows seated patients to be imaged, is also available.

“We take great pride in our ability to develop digital radiography solutions that uniquely benefit patient outcomes, technologist productivity, enhanced patient safety, and bring maximum ROI,” says Rob Fabrizio, Fujifilm’s director of strategic marketing for DR and women’s health. “These newly released innovations are welcomed additions to our full portfolio of DR room offerings and meet the exacting standards in performance the market has come to expect from Fujifilm.”
