Tsuneo “Neo” Imai, vice president and general manager of Canon U.S.A.’s Business Imaging Healthcare Solutions Group, as well as president of Canon’s wholly owned subsidiary Virtual Imaging, has been elected to the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) Board of Directors. The appointment is effective immediately.

Tsuneo “Neo” ImaMITA Executive Director Patrick Hope, spoke out about the appointment, saying: “Neo has demonstrated great leadership, both within Canon and as a member of MITA, and we are thrilled to have him join the board.”

Imai says he’s also excited about his new role, adding: “Canon is committed to being a leader and innovator within the imaging industry, and as such we deeply value the company’s membership in MITA. As a member of the board, I’m looking forward to becoming more involved.”

Imai joined Canon in 1982 before being promoted to manager of Sales Support at Canon U.S.A. in 1993. Over the past 20 years, he has held a variety of management and executive positions, assuming his current positions in 2014. As vice president of the Business Imaging Healthcare Solutions Group, Imai’s responsibilities span from development and growth of the Healthcare Solutions division, including the establishment of U.S., Canadian and Latin American markets for radiology and ophthalmology imaging products, to sales, marketing, administrative, service, regulatory and quality facets of the Healthcare Solutions Group.
