In response to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti last week, Yadin David, EdD, PE, CCE, FAIMBE, FACCE, is compiling a list of biomed volunteers willing to lend a hand.

David, a founder and first president of the American College of Clinical Engineering, will communicate the list to the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization, among other support groups. Biomeds interested in adding their names to the list should also include an area of expertise, if applicable.

David is also exploring alternate means of assisting those in Haiti. “We’ll need other donations in the form of basic supplies and equipment and I’m working on the logistics to accomplish that,” he writes in a letter to the biomed community.

To learn how you can assist aid efforts, and to add your name to the list of volunteers, e-mail David.
