Siemens Healthcare recently made its 100th domestic sale of the SOMATOM Definition Flash dual-source computed tomography (CT) system. The company also celebrated the 50th U.S. installation of the system.

The 50th installation occurred at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, a recently opened 227,000-square-foot Minneapolis facility. The installation comes as Siemens marks the 100th sale of the SOMATOM Definition Flash to University of Utah Health Care in Salt Lake City.

The SOMATOM Definition Flash enables rapid scanning at reduced radiation dose. Its speed offers added advantages, particularly regarding examinations of moving structures such as the thorax and the heart.
