Medical technology company Sectra acquired the rights for Intulo, a radiation monitoring device, from Krucom AB. Intulo tracks the cumulative radiation a patient is exposed to over multiple procedures over time.
Secrta anticipates growing demand for Intulo’s services as an aging population will yield more and more people who require radiology examinations. In addition, Sectra predicts medical professionals will find Intulo, which uses automated data collection, to be an efficient method to increase the long-term health and safety of patients.
The acquisition of Intulo bolsters Sectra’s position in the medical IT field. Sectra develops and sells a number of medical IT systems, including those associated with patient records and medical imaging management.
