MITA Updates Supplier Credentialing Standard to Include PPE

The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) announces that through the recently reconvened Consortium for Universal Healthcare Credentialing, its parent and standard-setting organization, NEMA, will update the 2019 Standard, the American National Standard for Supplier Credentialing in Healthcare, to include provisions for personal protective equipment.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published NEMA XR 31-2016: Standard Attributes on X-ray Equipment for Interventional Procedures—a standard development by its Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) division. This standard, which uses MITA Smart Dose Interventional technology, offers healthcare providers tangible ways to help manage patient radiation dose delivery while still enabling x-ray systems to provide sufficient image quality needed by physicians.
