On September 12, 2013, the American College of Clinical Engineering will hold a webinar on best practices for alarm management. According to the association, the webinar will highlight resources and proven systems based on best practices to enhance alarm management and to meet the Joint Commission requirements for the 2014 National Patient Safety Goal on alarm safety.

The panelists include James Keller, vice president, health technology evaluation and safety for the ECRI Institute; Izabella Gieras, director of clinical technology at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, Calif; Thomas Baul, biomedical engineer at the VA National Center for Patient Safety; and Tobey Clark, director, instrumentation & technical services, The University of Vermont.
