AAMI is inviting all members to attend an upcoming town hall meeting with its new president and CEO Robert Jensen so they can hear firsthand his vision for the future and provide their perspectives. Three one-hour sessions are scheduled for March 8 and 9.
In November, Jensen, a former U.S. Marine, became just the third president and CEO in AAMI’s 50-year history. (To read 24×7 Magazine‘s exclusive interview with Jensen, click here.)
Jensen worked for the previous 12 years for the MITRE Corp. where he conceived of and established the MITRE Center for Transforming Health, dedicated to improving healthcare nationwide through systems thinking, advancing technology, and providing transformative services for government health-related organizations.
Jensen has spent his first few months on the job getting to know the people, projects, and initiatives that define AAMI. During a recent AAMI podcast, Jensen said a crucial part of AAMI’s mission is to help provide “visionary ideas” so that the professionals on the front lines of healthcare technology can “craft the future that will actually serve the patients and the full community.”
During the town hall meetings, Jensen will elaborate on his experience and ideas for AAMI. He also will discuss the association’s top projects and priorities for 2017, in addition to his longer-term vision for AAMI and healthcare technology. There will also be time during the meetings for attendees to provide input directly to Jensen and other AAMI leaders.
