Jeff McGeath, vice president of patient care device integration for Iatric Systems, Boxford, Mass, has been appointed co-chair of the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Patient Care Device (PCD) Domain Technical Committee. In this role, McGeath will help lead the organization’s efforts as it develops IHE integration profiles and plans development activities, such as testing events and educational programs.
Formed in 2005, the IHE PCD Domain addresses the integration of medical devices in healthcare from the point-of-care to electronic health records, with an aim to significantly enhance patient care and safety. The committee is composed of users and developers of medical devices and systems.
McGeath was voted into this position by current members of the IHE PCD Domain Technical Committee. He will serve a 2-year term, which begins on September 1, 2013.
