The board of directors for the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), Arlington, Va, announces that for every dollar raised this fall for the AAMI Foundation Scholarship Fund, AAMI will match the contribution dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.

The AAMI Foundation scholarship program provides financial aid to students who are studying to become biomedical equipment technicians and clinical engineers. As the majority of current professionals face retirement in the coming years, the profession will see a significant decrease in the number of trained professionals, creating an urgent need for new members.

AAMI will recognize those who make a donation on the AAMI Foundation Web site, in AAMI News, and in a scholarship brochure.

“This is a great opportunity to provide a big boost to a worthy cause and be recognized for your donation,” said Steve Campbell, chief marketing and communications officer, AAMI. “Your contribution—regardless of the amount—will go a long way to providing crucial supplemental funding that our qualified students need.”
