The CE-IT Community, a collaboration between AAMI, the American College of Clinical Engineering, and HIMSS, will continue its online town hall series with a free session focused on interoperability. Held Wednesday, May 18, from 1 PM to 2:30 PM EDT, the event will cover January’s IHE Connectathon and the upcoming AAMI Interactive Systems exhibit at the 2016 Conference & Expo in Tampa June 3–6.

Calvin Sproul, a wireless technologies network manager for Johns Hopkins Enterprise, will discuss his experiences at the IHE North American Connectathon Week, held over 5 days in Cleveland with more than 1,000 health IT professionals and industry representatives. The Connectathon’s goal is to advance health IT interoperability.

In addition, members of the IHE Patient Care Domain will share updates on IHE developments. Founded in 2005, the IHE Patient Care Domain addresses the integration of medical devices into healthcare. Elliot Sloane, president and founder of the Center for Healthcare Information Research and Policy, will moderate the event.

Future online sessions from the CE-IT Community will cover medical image interoperability, IT risk management, acquisition and lifecycle management of integrated systems, and healthcare IT education and certification. For more information and to register for the event, visit the AAMI website.
