Philips-Glassx250In what it describes as a “proof of concept” demonstration, medical OEM Philips Healthcare has released a video that explores the potential of connecting its IntelliVue patient monitoring solutions with Google Glass technology. Working with technology consulting firm Accenture, Philips integrated data displays from its patient monitoring systems into Google’s wearable computing device.

David Feinstein, MD, an anesthesiologist featured in the video, describes the experience of using the interactive glasses as “very cool.” As the technology advances, he added, it will also be “very practical.”

Philips describes the experiment as as “a notable milestone in our research into emerging technologies and how they can be applied in healthcare to improve patient care.”
