Ziehm Imaging has announced that the company and OrthoScan have partnered to offer a new level of cooperation to address the needs of their customers, effective immediately. To this end, Nelson Mendes, president and CEO of Ziehm Imaging Inc, has been appointed to be president and CEO of OrthoScan as well.
“Ziehm Imaging and OrthoScan represent the best in technology and customer focus in the global market for x-ray based intraoperative imaging devices, and it is just a natural move to align both companies’ vision and efforts to provide an even better solution for all surgical imaging needs,” said Mendes.
OrthoScan specializes in mini C-arms, used in orthopedic surgical procedures for extremities, and was the first company to introduce flat-panel detectors, a standard for digital imaging, in this class of equipment. Similarly, Ziehm Imaging specializes in full size C-arms for many surgical procedures, such as cardiovascular, neuro, orthopedic, trauma, spine and pain management. Ziehm Imaging introduced flat-panel detectors in mobile C-arms about 10 years ago.
Ziehm Imaging has offices in Orlando with global headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany, where the company’s sales and service, research and development, and manufacturing facilities are located. OrthoScan is headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz, with operations in research and development, manufacturing, and sales and service. OrthoScan’s international business will be supported, through cooperation, by Ziehm Imaging and its global network, thereby opening further growth opportunities. In addition, both companies’ service activities will be bundled.
