Bedside ultrasound company SonoSite Inc announced that CFO Mike Schuh will retire at the end of the year and will be replaced by recently appointed SVP and CFO Marcus Smith.

Smith joined the company in 2007 as VP of corporate strategy and growth planning. While serving as VP and general manager of cardiovascular disease management, he led the successful acquisition of SonoSite’s primary care business.

Prior to joining SonoSite,Smith was the senior director of strategy and business development at Philips Medical Systems where he focused on patient monitoring and cardiac care.

Smith’s appointment will become effective as of August 10; Schuh intends to remain with the company up to the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition process.
