Premier Inc, a healthcare improvement company based in Rochester, NY, announced that its members can continue to order Carestream DRX systems and dental digital radiography systems according to the terms of a new 3-year group purchasing contract that went into effect on October 1, 2015.
Premier reports that the Carestream radiology imaging systems available through the new contract include Carestream DRX Plus detectors, DRX-Evolution Plus, DRX-Revolution mobile x-ray, DRX-mobile retrofit kit, DRX-Ascend, and the company’s DR accessories.
Carestream aims to equip imaging providers to quickly and affordably upgrade existing CR systems to DR technology. Its DRX detectors can be used with any DRX-based system to maximize utilization and deliver a good return on investment.
Carestream’s third-generation of DRX Plus Detectors are said to be faster and lighter than previous generations with many features to help users achieve higher productivity and improved image quality. The new Carestream DRX Plus 3543 and DRX Plus 3543C detectors have received FDA 510(k) clearance and are available in the United States and Europe.
The Carestream DRX-Evolution Plus is an upgraded version of the company’s DR room that offers an extended tube column for greater flexibility in high-ceiling rooms, a new high-performance generator, an optional table to accommodate patients up to 705 pounds, and design specifications that can accommodate newer advanced imaging applications as they become available.
The DRX-Revolution is designed to provide bedside image quality, rapid and comfortable patient positioning, safe and easy movement of the mobile system from one area to another, and higher productivity for technologists. The DRX-Ascend is intended to be an affordable DR system that can be configured with a wall stand and table for imaging centers, orthopedic facilities, urgent care clinics, and hospital radiology departments.
