Now that Unisyn/Sonora has been bought by GE, they suddenly can’t help me with low-cost repairs and replacements for GE Logiq probes. Any thoughts on what this means for the industry? – plymouth, ma.

GE actually acquired only the probe repair business, not the service side of Unisyn. There are now two companies: Unisyn, a GE company; and Consensys, which is now what the service organization will be called. GE has no plans to terminate probe repair services to end users; in fact they will likely expand their offerings. On the service side, Consensys will still offer service to their customers as they always have, still have the same service personnel, and still be operated by Jim Spearman, who was in charge of the service division at Unisyn.
