Carestream’s new wireless and fixed DRX Plus 4343 detectors in both gadolinium scintillator for general radiography and cesium scintillator are now available in the United States and Canada, in addition to many countries throughout Asia, Latin America, and Europe.
The company’s DRX Plus detectors, which measure 43 x 43 cm, can be used in conjunction with Carestream’s DRX-Evolution Plus and DRX-Ascend systems, in addition to the tabletop environment. Suitable for use with the Carestream DRX-Revolution mobile imaging system, these detectors are wireless.
The detectors offer rapid image capture, which helps users develop a streamlined workflow and deliver higher detective quantum efficiency—and that results in improved image quality and lower dose. Submersible in 1 meter of water without failure, DRX Plus detectors thus have the Internetwork Packet Exchange Level 7 rating for liquid resistance and the International Electrotechnical Commission standard 60529. Additionally, their reduced weight and thinner profile mean easier handling for users.
“We have modified the Buckys in our room-based systems to accept the larger-format DRX detectors,” says Sarah Verna, global marketing manager for x-ray solutions. “These detectors are ideal for chest x-rays, extremity exams, and general radiography imaging studies, and also can be used for bariatric patients.”
