Toshiba America Medical Systems announces its 800th Vantage 1.5T MR system install at Elkview General Hospital in Hobart, Okla, a 50-bed, short-term general hospital, which will use the system for orthopedic, neuro, and abdominal imaging.
A new imaging remodeling project at the facility spurred the installation, with the goal of helping to reduce patient anxiety and discomfort during MRI exams.
Patented Pianissimo technology, included in the Vantage system, reduces associated acoustic noise by as much as 90%, and its integrated coil concept allows physicians to perform multiple exams without repositioning the patient. The company’s SPEEDER parallel imaging allows for increased acquisition speed and reduced examination times.
The system also features feet-first imaging and takes advantage of Toshiba’s proprietary contrast-free protocols for safer patient scanning.
