New user data revealed by the ECRI Institute shows that among its hospital members polled, four vendors of MRI systems dominate the healthcare market: GE, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba.

The results come from ECRI Institute’s SELECTplus User Experience Network. It recently polled “hundreds of MRI system users” on a wide range of questions related to MRI systems. According to the survey results, the average quoted pricing for some of the most popular systems show that MRI costs range from $2M to $2.5M for 3T models and between $1.3M and $1.6M for 1.5T systems.

Other survey results include function, feature, and service ratings for each model, grouped by vendor to show how each vendor’s product line fares in each category.
