I have recently started a basic electronics technician course at Southwest Community College. After completion, I hope to find a job as a biomed tech or work in a dialysis center. My school has no co-op programs and due to “safety reasons” I am not allowed to shadow the biomed techs at work who are willing to let me. What other co-op programs can I look into for some real-time experience? Thank you.

Please check the following link on the AAMI Web site for internship positions throughout the country. Internship positions at AAMI are posted just as normal job postings. http://www.aami.org/CareerCenter/SearchJobPostings.cfm

If you live in California, the CMIA offers multiple scholarships including one for diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Follow this link for more information: http://cmia.org/class_request.htm .

If you transfer to another college in the future, make sure you check if they have co-op programs in place to assist their students.
