I have recently started a basic electronics technician course at Southwest Community College. After completion, I hope to find a job as a biomed tech or work in a dialysis center. My school has no co-op programs and due to “safety reasons” I am not allowed to shadow the biomed techs at work who are willing to let me. What other co-op programs can I look into for some real-time experience? Thank you. –
Please check the following link on the AAMI Web site for internship positions throughout the country. Internship positions at AAMI are posted just as normal job postings. http://www.aami.org/CareerCenter/SearchJobPostings.cfm
If you live in California, the CMIA offers multiple scholarships including one for diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Follow this link for more information: http://cmia.org/class_request.htm .
If you transfer to another college in the future, make sure you check if they have co-op programs in place to assist their students.
