Kaleida Health installed a second Aquilion ONE from Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc, at Buffalo General Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. The CT system can image an entire organ in one rotation, which Buffalo General utilizes to rapidly diagnose emergency department (ED) patients.
The Aquilion ONE CT system covers up to 16 cm of anatomy using 320 ultra-high-resolution 0.5 mm detector elements. The system can show an organ’s dynamic blood flow and real-time function. With the system’s 160-detector row ultra-helical scan mode, physicians can image a patient’s entire chest, abdomen, and pelvis in fewer than five seconds.
In addition, Buffalo General is utilizing Aquilion ONE for cardiac CTA and torso CTA, providing surgical staff with accurate information for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures.
