On Monday, September 13, the Medical Device Servicing Community (MDSC) released a white paper outlining best practices for the training of medical device servicing technicians. Specifically, the MDSC is soliciting comments from any interested party related to medical device servicing: including, but not limited to, original equipment manufacturers, independent service organizations, hospital biomedical engineering professionals, clinical engineering or healthcare technology management departments, professional organizations, and/or regulatory bodies.
The white paper will be open for comments until 5 p.m. EST on October 13. Click here to view the white paper.
Moreover, the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) is participating in the development of and collecting comments on behalf of the MDSC, a stakeholder coalition of volunteer organizations dedicated to advancing safety, effectiveness, and quality of medical device servicing. As a Steering Committee member of the MDSC, AORN will work with AAMI and the MDSC to review and consider all comments on this document.
