Avera McKennan University Hospital in Traverse City, Mich, expands the use of its real-time locating system (RTLS) from Versus Technology to track patients step-by-step in its new surgery center.
Avera Surgery Center will utilize the Versus Advantages Clinic solution throughout the surgery center, including the 28 private patient rooms and eight surgical suites. Each patient who enters the area will be provided a locating badge allowing both staff and family members in the waiting area to identify the patient’s location, wait time, and status as they progress through each stage of the process.
The hospital will also issue an alpha pager to family, which can relay similar patient status information.
Since 2003, Avera has used the Versus system to track more than 1,500 assets for real-time equipment management. The solution also integrates to the hospital’s nurse call system, allowing nurses to automatically register response to patient calls.
